Our entire planting of Traveler a similar Arkansas blackberry very quickly got orange rust and had to be removed. Our other Arkansas varieties planted very near them had minimal orange rust. It would be valuable to know the Orange Rust susceptibility of the different Arkansas varieties before replanting or picking a similar variety such as Prime Ark Freedom.

I planted 5 prime ark freedom plugs in late May of '22. The primocanes did not survive the winter in Central Mass, but the 2023 primocanes are fruiting heavily and ripening well around October 1. I imagine yield would be higher if I tipped them properly. The berries are huge, firm, and very sweet. Since our winters aren't kind to overwintering blackberries, I'll be transplanting these to wicking tubs and keeping them in the garage or barn and out of the elements to get summer floricane harvests in the future.

Incredible plants! I planted 35 plants in February 2022, all of them grew into a thick hedge. Got about 60#’s of Primocane berries and expect up to 200#’s of floricane berries in June 2023. I put a couple of videos together on YouTube chronicling their growth over the year.

I wish I could post pictures because it is really hard to describe how fast and how big these Primeark Freedom plants get, and how big the berries are. I purchased 35 plants that arrived on February 4t, 2022. I planted them the same day in a 100’ row, 3’ apart from each other with a 1 gph drip emitter between each plant. As of July 14th they have formed a hedgerow 6’ tall with some laterals over 9’ tall. I get about a #1/2/day of berries that average 12g/berry. For comparison, a typical berry is the size of my thumb! This is just the Primocane crop that will just keep pumping out berries until the first frost. I really can’t imagine what the florocane crop will be like. I strongly recommend a “V-trellis” because they are so big. I built a three-wire trellis similar to the one described on this website but I’m gonna convert pretty soon to give this plant more room for next years growth.

I bought 15 plants last year, but I have waited to write this review. The plants came in as expected and were very well packed. I planted all of these last winter. All 15 have survived and have done so well, I transplanted half of them in another location. All 15 produced on the primocane and now are floricanes and are loaded. They are very good producers.
