Cabot strawberry is known for its huge berries, excellent flavor, winter hardiness and disease resistance. It is by far the best-tasting big berry ever! Our customer survey indicates Cabot is best adapted for northern locations and where very large fruit size is required. The berries have excellent flavor; color and firmness were rated good. First fruits may split or be rough. Plants are vigorous, but may not run freely indicating closer spacing may be required. Cabot is recommended for direct marketing growers.

Reviews

There are the best strawberries I have ever eaten. The plants came in fresh and healthy. They were not all dried out like you find in the stores. I ordered 25 knowing that they would put off runners. I still got about 10 pints of jam out of the plants first year. My runners now have up to 5 plants on them that will be planted this fall. I would order from this company again if there is a need.

I know I shouldn't have, but I let these fruit the first year. Even having only been in the ground a month, many started throwing up flowers and fruiting. The fruits had a uniform size and shape, starting wide at the stem and tapering to a point. They had an amazingly pronounces "strawberry" taste that was sweet and slightly tart. The plants themselves have grown quite large and are filling in the bed very nicely. some of the plants are reaching nearly 12" in height. Some of my plants did not make it, I took too long finishing the bed for them. Now that they are sending runners, I'll be able to fill in the spots quickly and look forward to a large harvest next year. 4 Stars only because I had only a small sampling of the berries ripen this first year.
