Encore raspberry is a release from the Cornell Small Fruit Breeding Program in Geneva, NY; tested as NY 7. Encore is vigorous, sturdy, upright, nearly spineless and has excellent winter hardiness. Berries are large with very cohesive drupelets and good raspberry flavor. Encore is a good choice for extending the summer raspberry-picking season and offers high yields required by commercial growers.

Reviews

We purchased 100 Encore plants this spring. Every single one grew and we had fruit most of the plants this year. They were very strong heathy plants. I highly recommend.

I planted these raspberries in 2018. They simply did not do well. The canes did not thrive, and their were no berries this year. I don't know if it is the location, the soil or the variety, but it is the third row with another row of Prelude and one of Boyne both of which have one well. Next year, I will replace them with Prelude.

Purchased 60 plants in 2013. Produced well first 3 years. Since then have been plagued with sun scald which ruins both flavor and appearance.
