Yambu are the glossiest, most vibrant strawberries we have ever grown. We have a U-Pick operation in western Ohio and Yambu is currently our only early season variety. Yambu has a VERY long picking season, almost as long as Sonata, with total production being excellent year after year. We load them up on potassium (fertigation) when they start to fruit to keep the flavor in tip top shape.
We have grown/trialed more than 40 varieties over the years and Yambu has been our #1 choice for the early season for several years now.
I ordered several varieties, this being one of them. They were productive, the leaves kept their bright green color and they were delicious and easy to pick.
