Cavendish Strawberry

Cavendish strawberry, which originates in Nova Scotia, results from a cross between two varieties (Annapolis and Glooscap) known for their winter hardiness and attractive, large fruit. It produces high yields that ripen over a long growing season. The fruit’s excellent flavor and overall quality make this variety a good choice for commercial growers. Cavendish is highly resistant to red stele and has some resistance to Verticillium wilt. The fruit has the potential for uneven ripening in hot conditions but holds its flavor.
